FJ probably has a line that is a little comfier, but it’s clear that this shoe is designed for looks and performance on the course. The versa-trax system on the bottom of the shoe paired with the soft spikes is a perfect combo. While they may have a more “comfortable” line, you certainly won’t be walking on pins and needles; these shoes may just take a little extra time to break in due to the shoe material. I would buy 1000 pairs of these if I could. I hope footjoy never stops making them. One last note, as with all FootJoy products, these shoes run a half to a full size bigger than your normal tennis shoes. I’m a 9.5 in regular shoes and got a size 9 in these golf shoes. The leather has a firm but not stiff feel to it. Similarly, the sole feels flexible while still providing support and form when walking. FootJoy used a firmer foam around the perimeter of the sole to keep you centered during the swing. There was no slipping or twisting, whether on mats, sloppy wet grass, or dry turf. If you've never worn a pair of FootJoy Pro SL golf shoes, now is the time to discover why they're so popular. They're stylish and comfortable, and you can wear them on and off the course. “I love the boa system. After a few swings, I usually have to tighten my golf shoes mid-round, and the boa system makes that easy. I would have to say the fit was a little tough on these. Normally, I wear an eight medium for almost any shoe from Nike to New Balance to Ecco to Allen Edmonds. My last pair of DryJoys was a 7.5 medium. The best fit in these is a 7.5 wide for me. I had to try four pairs (8M 7.5M 7.5W 7W) to get the fit just right. The good thing is Amazon/Zappos makes trying on multiple shoes easy. Returns just need to be dropped off at the return locker at the local Whole Foods. The weatherproofing is good, as is the grip. The grip isn’t quite as good as full soft spikes (or metal ones if you remember those), but it is better than the spikeless street-style golf shoes. So these are kind of in-between in terms of grip and comfort when comparing them against casual spikeless and spikes.” | |
